Dr. Schambaugh is known for asking questions such as, "Why do airplanes fly?" on his final exams. His one and only final exam question in May 1997 for his Momentum, Heat and Mass Transfer II class was: "Is hell exothermic or endothermic? Support your answer with proof." The following is an actual question given. The answer was so "profound" that the Professor shared it ...

Make the Ordinary Come Alive

So This week there is something new that has come up. We all carve for an extraordinary life big bucks and all the luxuries of the world. But not all of us get what we want and those who get it do not value it or over see it. Well amidst these war of thoughts my mother asked me a question one fine day, "Uddhav ! Now all Indian Mom's think that all Computer Science Graduate (Basically a Computer Engineer) gets minimum Rs 50,000 as a salary per month. Yet all in vain As a recourse to the shame I walked into, I resorted to the good old pal who is common to all "Becharas" like me The Internet. Please do leave your comment behind.

Why English is so Diffcult to understand and learn

So Language Brings us to gather but also Divides us. While I am Still Coping with the thought provoking, flabbergasting and at times completely dumbfounding words of anecdoes. I and My Mother always have a long discussion over the pronunciation of word with the syllable phony which make them sound alike. This also reminds me of the scene from Chupke Chupke (A Hindi Movie Block Buster from 1975) wherein Dharmendra (one of the lead actors) recites a dialog "Sir To to ho sakta hai Do do ho sakta hai toh Go Go kyun hota hai GOO Kyun nai?" Let's face it - English is a crazy language There is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren't invented in England . We take English for granted, but if we explore its paradoxes, we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square, and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig. And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, gro...
